Call for research papers

ITADATA2026 welcomes original papers from academia and industry presenting novel research on all theoretical and practical aspects of Big Data and data science including data governance, data processing, data analysis, data reporting, data protection, as well as experimental studies and lessons learned. ITADATA2026 also welcomes papers specifically focusing on policy making, ethics, laws, and regulations. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Big Data and Data Science Foundation
  • Big Data Platforms and Infrastructures
  • Big Data and Data Science Applications
  • Big Data Governance
  • Big Data Security and Privacy
  • Big Data Assurance and Trustworthiness
  • Ethics of Big Data
  • Big Data and Data Science for Cybersecurity
  • Big Data and Data Science for High Performance Computing
  • Industrial Big Data and Data Science
  • Data Spaces

Research papers can be submitted to two tracks as follows:

  • Regular paper (up to 12 pages + references): original research work.
  • Discussion papers (up to 8 pages + references): research work discussing a critical summary of already-published papers, on-going/incomplete work presenting preliminary results, position papers.

Regular papers will be considered for the best paper award and for possible invitation to a journal special issue on a Q1 journal (TBC).

Papers have to be submitted in pdf format and must be written in English. All papers will be reviewed by at least 3 members of the program committee and evaluated on the basis of their quality, originality, relevance, and timeliness. Accepted papers shall be published in an open-access volume of CEUR Workshop Proceedings.

Call for Industrial Papers

ITADATA2026 welcomes papers from industry practitioners presenting industrial use-cases, applications, best practices, challenges and lessons learned in all theoretical and practical aspects of Big Data and data science. This track also welcomes papers specifically focusing on ethics, laws, and regulations.

A 5 to 10 pages industrial paper, written in English, has to be submitted in pdf format to the corresponding track. Accepted industrial papers shall be published in an open-access volume of CEUR Workshop Proceedings.

Call for Presentations

ITADATA2026 welcomes presentations of previously published research results or work in progress from academia and industry in all theoretical and practical aspects of Big Data and data science including data governance, data processing, data analysis, data reporting, data protection, as well as experimental studies and lessons learned. ITADATA2026 also welcomes papers specifically focusing on policy making, ethics, laws, and regulations.

A 2 to 4 pages abstract, written in English, of the presentation has to be submitted in pdf format. Accepted presentations will be presented at the conference and will not be added to the conference proceedings.

Call for Tutorials/Demo

ITADATA2026 tutorial/demo track welcomes researchers and practitioners in sharing practical knowledge, best practices and guidelines in vertical problems of big data and data science, and live demonstrations and prototypes. Tutorials/demos are planned to be delivered in a session of 1 or 2 hours. Tutorial proposals should contain the following information:

  • Title of the tutorial
  • Presenter(s) (brief CVs)
  • Aims and learning objectives
  • Scope of the tutorial/demo
  • Length: 1 or 2 hours
  • Full description (up to 2 pages) + citations to related publications
  • Target audience

Author and submission guidelines

Papers, tutorial and demo, and panel proposals must be submitted in the corresponding tracks at the submission platform (TBA).

All papers and proposals must be formatted following the provided style available here and submitted as PDF files. Papers do not need to be anonymized.

All papers and proposals will be evaluated and selected on the basis of their quality, originality, relevance, and timeliness.
